Winter Painting in the Bitterroots

I am loving Montana and we are having a mild winter so far. So, I bought some insulated overalls and a mat to stand on in the snow and am enjoying painting outside this winter. This quick study of the Mountains was done at about 29 degrees and is my first mountain study. I am just trying to get ideas and not making a painting with the limited time I’m outside. These will be great sketches to use later in the studio for more finished work.
